How do I know if a rehearsal has been cancelled due to weather?

Our top priority is the safety of our members and volunteers. Our decision to cancel a rehearsal follows the Arlington Independent School District's letter on inclement weather. Simply said, if the district closes due to inclement weather, MMS rehearsal is cancelled.

The district makes their decision by 5:30 am on the day in question and notifies the public in the following manner:

Download the Arlington ISD mobile app to be notified first. You can also check our website, Facebook and Twitter for information. Tune in to your local television and radio stations, as well as AISD-TV, TimeWarner Cable channel 98 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 for up-to-date information on school closings. Do not call the school unless it is an absolute emergency.

Can a care community bring their residents to rehearsal?

Care communities that agree in advance via the MMS website to all of the following requirements are welcome to bring their residents to rehearsal:

1. Care community will have 1 staff member for every 2 residents in attendance inside the rehearsal from start to finish

2. Arrive at the rehearsal location by 9:30 am.

Do I have to register in advance to attend a rehearsal?

No. Only care communities bringing a group of residents are required to register in advance.

What can I expect as a first-time attendee?

At a minimum, you'll meet a lot of new friends and enjoy some wonderful singing. Our schedule is the same at every rehearsal:

9:30 to 10:00 am - Meet and great while enjoying snacks and drinks provided by our weekely sponsor.

10:00 to 10:05 am - Announcements/Updates from MMS followed by a brief commercial from our weekly sponsor.

10:05 to 11:00 am - Sing songs together with the help of our musical director and piano player. Lyrics are displayed in large print via projector. We also provide lyrics in print format if needed.
